How to Prepare Yourself for Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding your newborn can be a beautiful way to connect and grow your tiny human.

While pregnant, often we don’t prepare ourselves to breastfeed our new babes. Preparing a space for yourself to read, gain insight, ask questions and prepare for this time can truly provide you with a more empowered and insightful look on how to feed your new babe.

Here are a few things you can do to #prepareyourself for breastfeeding:

✨ Be MINDFUL that it is part of the cycle of life. Baby will find your breast on its own after birth. Give it time.

✨ While you are pregnant, READ one of the amazing resources out there to help prepare your mind and heart. One of my favorites is Ina May’s Guide to Breastfeeding. Her insight and knowledge will help provide peace of mind and hopefully, a positive outlook on what can be a wonderful experience. If you have more questions, my inbox is always open. #linkinbio

✨ Reach out to professionals, friends or family to SUPPORT you through your goals. Finding those with experience and expertise can give you the support and advice that you didn’t realize you would need.
Self-care is asking for help when you need it. It’s okay.
If you are looking for experience and knowledge on this topic [and others], I am here to help you reach your goals, give advice or just listen. I’m here for you.

✨ Set your INTENTIONS. How long would you like to breastfeed baby? What products can assist or help you? What will you do if breastfeeding isn’t an option? While these are flexible answers, it can be important to look ahead and be prepared for whatever comes up so you can have an action plan in mind.

✨ And lastly, no matter how you feed them, take time to CONNECT your body with baby. Like making time each day for bonding with skin-to-skin contact.

Please reach out if you need any support.
