Soothing Postpartum Herbal Sitz Bath Recipe

postpartum sitz bath.png

A postpartum sitz bath is particularly helpful in the days and weeks after giving birth. The bath is extremely effective in easing discomfort in the perineal area.

It also promotes healing and helps by gently keeping the area clean. It can also be highly beneficial for healing a tear (episiotomy) that occurred during birth as well as cesarean section incisions.

Easy preparation with relaxing benefits.

POSTPARTUM HERBAL SITZ BATH RECIPE:

1. Fill your bathtub 1/4 of the way full with warm water.

2. While tub is filling, add 2 cups of Epsom Salt with 4 drops of Lavender Essential Oil.

3. Once the tub has filled, relax in the bath (preferably with candlelight and your favorite music) for 15 - 20 minutes.

Rest and enjoy.

xx, Donette
